One thing I forgot to mention about "The Fall." The music. I loved how the lyrics of the song matched some of the dialogue of the story. Someone would say something and then the lyrics would kind of echo what was said musically. It was goofy/interesting.

I wonder why low budgets films do not take more advantage of using classical/public domain music. It will be free, while offering a world class soundtrack.

Congratulations on finding a more irritating guest than Reed Farrington. Thank God she left halfway through.

I like how our commenters hate women.

I like how Matt calls Reed a woman. ;)

Another great TMCP episode guys. I also liked "The Fall" but I don't see that layer of "homage to filmmaking." Although I enjoyed seeing all the clips of those early cinema stunts, I thought it was a cheat. The film never deserved, which looked like to me, a rejected academy awards montage. I would accept a music video in the same vein as RHCP "Give it Away" at the end. =)

I definitely enjoyed the whole "Auteur Theory" discussion. I never knew of the meaning until now. There doesn't seem to be a concrete definition based on panel's opinion of it so I wouldn't use it.

Its more in reference to how every time a woman is on the show someone bitches that they are the WORST. PERSON. EVAH.

But your version works too. ;)

I wish there was more talk about the Fall and less semantic arguing - thanks for the episode ;) - it would have been good to get Reeds thoughts too.

Just wanted to let you guys know that I really enjoy these in depth discussions. I hope you do more. The film I would love to hear you guys cover is Sam Peckinpah's "Bring me the head of Alfredo Garcia." This film to my mind is a masterpiece and also one that tends to polarize audiences. Also it is one that I have never heard discussed anywhere else before which is a plus. A good runner up with the same qualities would be "Straw Dogs." Jay will like this one because it has a rape scene that makes "The Accused" seem like "Love Is a Many-Splendored Thing" by comparison. Keep up the good work. x
